Kwara Govt begins distribution of free CAC certificate to newly registered business
Kwara State Government has commenced the distribution of freely registered business CAC certificates, a statement announced on Saturday.
The programme which is a component of the Federal Government Survival Fund Scheme was designed to support vulnerable micro, small and medium-scaled enterprises and safeguard jobs from the shock of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It stated that Kwara received 6,606 slots last year from FG out of which 2,146 certificates arrived last week for the onward formalization of the registered state-based SMSes.
The registration for the scheme had earlier been opened for all through an online platform managed by the Survival Fund office in Abuja and monitored by the Kwara Government through the Office of Special Assistant on Job Creation, Barr. Aliu Al-Hassan and the General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes (KWASSIP), Mr Mohammed Brimah.
“This administration presents a new page for Kwarans because it takes maximum advantage of all Federal and Foreign opportunities and partnerships using it’s newfound goodwill to benefit the people of Kwara State.
“A strong reason identified for rising unemployment in the state was that businesses were not registered to take funding opportunities.
“Now, Kwara is taking action with the support from FG to get more people especially the youths up and doing. The AbdulRazaq-led administration is now changing the story, ” the statement quoted General Manager KWASSIP, Mr Mohammed Brimah as saying.
While commenting on the programme, Special Assistant to the Governor on Job Creation Barr Aliyu Alhassan urged the youths who were privileged to benefit from the scheme to continue to work hard to grow their businesses by taking advantage of other opportunities out there and paying their taxes promptly.
“We have received 2,146 certificates out of the 6,606 allotted for us. It simply means that those who registered previously will be contacted to come for formalisation and collection of certificates. We are optimistic beneficiaries will maximise the opportunity to start or develop their businesses.”
Mr Aliyu also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for the seamless relationship between the Kwara State Government and the Federal Government on the state’s agenda for inclusive growth and development.
