Kwara North Monarchs Applaud Governor AbdulRazaq’s Giant strides in the Health sector

 

*…as Health Commissioner Unveils first State-owned Gene-Xpert Machine in Baruten LG*

Eminent Traditional Rulers from Baruten Local Government have applauded the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his giant strides in the health sector in the area.

The Royal Fathers gave the commendation when the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq, embarked on a 2-day working tour of health facilities in the four districts of Baruten Local Government Area.

The four districts in which the Commissioner was involved in the facility tour include Okuta, Gwanara, Ilesha-Baruba and Yashikira.

Dr Razaq also used the occasion of the tour to unveil the first state-owned Gene-Xpert Machine at Okuta General Hospital and commissioned four newly renovated health facilities in the area to enhance effective health-care delivery service.

The Gene-Xpert Machine, the Commissioner explained, would be used for diagnosis of Tuberculosis and relevant for Covid-19 test with the aid of additional gadgets.

“We now know the gaps in terms of equipment, health workers and other essential needs to make these facilities work better and that is why the Governor approved our tour of all the over 700 primary and secondary health facilities in the state”, Dr. Razaq said.

He called on the TIC Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Lafia and the traditional rulers to support measures at encouraging the use of health facilities rather than patronising quacks.

The Commissioner had earlier paid homage to the Emirs of Okuta, Gwanara, Ilesha-Baruba and Yashikira in their respective palaces.

The Four First Class Emirs
all commended the efforts of Governor AbdulRazaq for his foresight and ingenuity in prioritizing the plight of the people of Baruten in his rebuilding agenda for the State.

The Monarchs, who appreciated the visit, described the Governor as God-sent to the people of Baruten especially with the various interventions being undertaken in the area to make life comfortable for their people.

The Hon. Member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Okuta/Yashikira Constituency, Hon. Salihu Baba Boriya, further enjoined the people of the area to patronize government funded health care facilities.

Baba Boriya enumerated strategies adopted by the state government to accomplish the motive of bringing orthodox health care closer to the people.

Other places visited by the Commissioner during the 2-day working tour of health facilities in Baruten include Kosubosu, Gure, Yashikira and the Chikanda border post where he commended the officers for their roles at the height of Covid-19 Pandemic in the Country.
