Construction of General Babatunde Idiagbon Flyover, Contractor given the nod to step up pace of work

 

In an effort to continuously prioritise public assets and improve socio – economic well-being of the citizens, in line with the “Isenlo” Mantra of this administration, Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport implores the general public to be vigilant and drive with caution as road construction/rehabilitation activities intensify from next week. Safety equipment for day and night hours will be erected, the site will be cordoned out and speed limits will be put in place with personnel on ground to manage people as they move around the site. Please do not attempt to outsmart the flaggers for your own safety. Kindly adhere strictly to the flaggers’ instructions to avoid any form of mishap.

Work continues on the Osi-Obbo Aiyegunle road, Ilesha Baruba Gwanara road, General Tunde Idiagbon Flyover and the Yebumot – Adeta Roundabout – Mount Carmel road. Projects commencing next week include:
i. Reconstruction of Adeta Roundabout – Pakata Roundabout, Ilorin
ii. Rehabilitation of Oja Roundabout – Pakata Roundabout, Ilorin
iii. Const. Of Oloje – Ita Aman Madi Road, Ilorin
iv. Tanke Oke Odo Ring Road 1.8km Ilorin
v. Construction of Ballah Township Road (Rehabilitation of Eyenkorin to Ballah 6.2Km)
vi. Construction of General Hospital Road – Otte
vii. Construction of Ora Township Road
viii. Secretariat road to New Market Lafiagi Township, Lafiagi
ix. Tsaragi Township Road Edu
x. Rehabilitation of Iyana Shonga to Shonga Road, Shonga
xi. Construction of Tsuba – central School, lade Patigi
xii. Construction of Oloje road linking Balode
xiii. Construction of Coca Cola – Palace Road, Jebba
xiv. Construction of Lanwa Township
xv. Construction of Oloru Township Roadtech
xvi. Bani Township Road
xvii. Construction of Okuta Central Mosque Junction – Emirs Palace – Sakiyara
xviii. Construction of Saint Clairs Junction Offa Ikotun Road
xix. Oko – Idofin – Igbana Road Rehabilitation
xx. Construction of Oke Oyi Township Road
xxi. Construction of (2×12.5) Span Bridge along Bukka-Adena Road Kaiama

The Commissioners for Works and Transport, Engr. Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu, who was at The General Babatunde Idiagbon Flyover site appealed to residents and road users and gave the reassurance that the work will be completed in 12 months. Hon. Rotimi appealed to road users to be patient and also drive with total concentration to prevent avoidable mishap.
