2023: Thousands of PDP members join APC on Kwara

 

•Say AbdulRazaq’s leadership style influenced decision

Thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members have dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lakanla community, Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State.

These people confessed that the leadership style of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the massive development in the state since he assume office was the factor behind their decision.

Leading the decampee into the APC, Elder Joseph Adediran who was the Organising Secretary for PDP in the locality said himself and his people have always been bonafide members of PDP but suffered a lot in terms of community development and even personally gain.

Elder Adediran said the governor’s pattern of governance which is, spreading infrastructural development across the nooks and crannies of the state is what made them join the party so that they can also contribute their quota to ensure continuity in the good governance for the benefit of the masses.

He also thanked member representing Share Oke-Ode Constituency in the local government for complementing the excellent performance of His Excellency to his people saying wherever path Owolabi follows, there they shall also trend.

Speaking for the women decampee, Alhaja Iyabo Aliu stressed that they have been PDP members for a very long time but with nothing to show for it, pointing out that, they are now ready to team up with APC and the “Alanu Mekunu Governor”.

The decampee were received by the APC Deputy Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Prince Olatayo Owolabi as he presented the party symbol to them.

The Baale of Lakanla, Alhaji Mustapha Seheed who was present at the event said, Owolabi broke the record because the money he spent on empowerment alone beyond what anyone has ever done in the history of Ifelodun.

The Baale said the lawmaker has been tested with little and excelled praying for a bigger challenge for him so that his good deed can continue in a bigger and better way.

Also, the oldest politician in the community, Alhaji Amosa Jimoh said Owolabi’s achievement that he has been experiencing is beyond a House of Assembly member but a senator like achievement and has never experienced such throughout his decades in politician.

In his remark, the lawmaker lauded the ingenuity of the governor in various sectors in the state, stressing that Kwarans must show appreciation by voting him into power once again.

Hon Owolabi said doing good is a must for him because there is no hideout for non performance public office holder in the government of a performing governor.

He welcomed the decampee into the APC fold, congratulating them for joining the progressives while saying APC is for the welfarism of Kwarans and would continue to be.

Earlier, the parliamentarian had continued his ward tour to Adio in Share Ward IV and Bode-Saadu, Moro Local Government to listen to the yearning of his people in the part of the state.

He promised quick intervention to all their requests.
