Bitter souls don’t go far in life: KYDA blasts PDP’s Seun Awogbenle over hateful comment

A youth group in Kwara State, Kwara Youth Development Advocate (KYDA), has blasted Seun Awogbenle, a loyalist of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Bolaji Abdullahi, over his hateful and distasteful comment on Twitter, following the appointment of young Ibraheem Abdullateef (Egghead) by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as Special Assistant on Communication.

Seun Awogbenle who styles as a youth advocate in a now deleted tweet had attacked Governor AbdulRazaq for ‘appointing students into public offices’.

“People that you should allow face their studies, you are distracting them with appointment,” the PDP loyalist wrote.

KYDA questioned Awogbenle’s oft-touted youth inclusion advocacies, calling him a confused soul filled with hypocrisy and malice.

The group urged Awogbenle to purge himself of bile for Governor AbdulRazaq, adding, “that way, he will not be losing his mind and sanity, passing off irresponsible statements.”

“We are shocked to see Seun Awogbenle in a now deleted tweet condemning Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, obviously over his recent appointment of Ibraheem Abdullateef (Egghead) as Special Assistant on Communication, and many other appointments of youths. No doubt, Governor AbdulRazaq is a youth-friendly administrator. Awogbenle’s tweet reveal his deep-seated hatred and bile for Governor AbdulRazaq. No action of the Governor appears good to him, probably to satisfy his paymasters who are in the opposition. His statement also gave him out as a stinking hypocrite and double-faced opportunist.

“We have always known Seun Awogbenle to be styling himself as a youth inclusion advocate. His about-face in his latest outburst shows he’s only an opportunist hiding under the youth inclusion guise to curry favour. Bitter souls like him cannot grow in life. For them, it is me-or-nobody.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Abdullateef is a graduate of Kwara State Polytechnic (ND, Mass Communication). His thirst for knowledge led him to study further at Kwara State University. He has also concluded his final exams. Apart from this, he is an impact maker with many achievements to his name. He is outstanding in what he does (communication and youth leader). He is a rare breed among Kwara youths of today, and he has always been around. We are surprised to see Awogbenle who is not in touch with the realities in Kwara because he does not live with us and only come around when there is another meal to feast on from his political patrons, attacking such a rising star and young achiever over his appointment. Abdullateef is very qualified for the job.

“For fellows like Awogbenle who in another breath make so much noise about educational qualifications in promoting their senatorial candidate, it’s sheer hypocrisy carried too far. Is Seun Awogbenle suggesting that because of appointment one should not learn again? We know many office holders who are enrolled in one educational programme or the other. How does that disqualify them or distract them as in Awogbenle’s corrosive and bigoted opinion?

“People like Awogbenle who do not have the love of Kwara at heart, but jump into the state whenever there is political patronage from their principals should not be taken seriously. They make so much noise about youth inclusion, but when young people other than them are appointed, they demonstrate bile and angst and pull them down. Bitter people like Seun Awogbenle don’t grow in life. It’s clear that since his boss Razak Atunwa lost the gubernatorial election in 2019, he has lost his sanity, condemning the incumbent Governor for everything. He should rather deal with the controversial educational qualification of Atunwa who claimed to have studied law from Kwara State Polytechnic.

“We commend Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for changing the narrative in Kwara State and bringing young persons to the decision table. In the administrative years of Awogbenle’s bosses, young people are treated like a piece of rag. What opportunity or state task did the like of Awogbenle get during these years? Their leaders prefer to use young people as thugs. That has changed under AbdulRazaq. Given that such a system is alien to the likes of Awogbenle, his recent outburst is understood.”
