Breaking:Kwara PDP Governorship campaign council members dump party, move to APC

Members of the Kwara Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Campaign Council have resigned and dumped the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

They were received by the Director General of the Kwara APC Campaign Council, Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki in Ilorin.

Several other PDP stakeholders and members also joined them in defecting to the ruling party.

Their defection comes few days to the general election and also contributes to strengthening the ruling APC in the state.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Muritala Ayodeji, a Head of Department in the Kwara PDP Campaign Council, said they decided to leave the party because indications from the last presidential and national assembly elections show clearly that APC is the party to beat.

“We are ready to join the progressive fold to move our state forward. The PDP is now a sinking party in Kwara State as the last election has shown. APC is the party to beat. Therefore, I advise my brothers in the PDP Campaign Council to also resign and join the winning party.

“We commend the pro-people and developmental policies that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been initiating over the last three years. We will contribute to his victory in this coming poll and we will also support all other APC candidates,” he said.

Other council members and party stakeholders who decamped are: Hon. Saadudeen Agbabiaka, Secretary, PDP Ilorin West; Yusuf Ilias, Coordinator, Yaman PDP Campaign 2023; Kabir Muktar, Vice Chairman, PDP Hausa Community; Yusuf Abdulrafiu, member, Wahab Issa Campaign Council; Sanusi Sidikat Damilola, Women Leader, PDP Balogun Fulani 2; Ahmed Shehu Laaro Agaka, elder PDP Magaji Ngeri Ward; and Umar Bukola.
