Police arrest Cultists linked to double homicide at ilorin night club

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists in connection with the brutal murder of two young men at the Insomnia Night Club of Tanke Oke-odo area in Ilorin.
The suspects, identified as Ridwan Alabi (aka Boshi), Taiye Sulieman (aka Sly), and Adebayo Abibullahi (aka Bibson), were apprehended at their hideout in the Tipper Garage area following a swift investigation.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 30th of May this year, when Useni Usman, 22, and Sulieman Garba, 25, were attacked and killed by the suspects, who are believed to be members of the Eiye Secret Cult Confraternity.
Parading the suspects at the Police headquarters in Ilorin, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, said the police recovered two locally made guns, a battle axe, expended cartridges, live ammunition, and two unregistered vehicles at the scene.
The Police boss added that the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime during interrogation and revealed that three other accomplices, identified as Oluwanishola Yunus Olayinka (aka Yinka Bullet), Sodia Ajibola (aka JB), and Biola (aka B Red), are still at large.
CP Olaiya said the police are continuing their investigation to apprehend these remaining suspects.
In another operation, the Kwara State Police Command disrupted an attempted initiation ceremony by the Aiye cult group in the Agbo-Oba area on the 14th of last month .
Acting on credible intelligence, CP Olaiya said the police, in collaboration with community volunteers, arrested five suspects: Bello Ibrahim (aka K-Black), Abdulwahab Jamiu, Abdulrasaq Ridwan (aka Depo), Sodiq Suleiman (aka Amugiri), and Salman Muftau.
The suspects were found in possession of a Beretta pistol and criminal charms.
The police boss said the operation underscores the importance of community policing and the role residents play in aiding law enforcement.
The suspects and exhibits have been handed over to the Anti-Cultism Section for further investigation.
