Abdulmutalib Akinlade Shittu Thank Kwarans, Governor AbdulRazaq for the opportunity to serve
As I reflect on this important phase of my journey in public service, I am filled with profound gratitude to His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, for the confidence, trust, and rare privilege of serving our dear state in key capacities within the Kwara State Government.
From my appointment as Special Assistant on Geographic Information Systems, to the honour of serving as the Pioneer Executive Chairman of KW-GIS, and subsequently as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on KWGIS, each responsibility entrusted to me has been both humbling and deeply meaningful.
To be given the opportunity, at a relatively young age, to help lead one of the most strategic institutions in our state, an institution central to land administration, survey, physical planning, and the broader reform of governance systems, remains a privilege I will forever hold dearly. It was not merely an appointment; it was a call to duty, and one I embraced with utmost commitment, discipline, and a clear sense of purpose.
This period of service has been one of the most defining experiences of my life. It has deepened my understanding of governance, strengthened my appreciation for institutional reform, and reinforced my conviction that public office must be approached as a platform for impact, not entitlement.
I remain sincerely grateful to His Excellency for the trust he reposed in me, for the guidance he provided, and for the opportunity to contribute, in my own modest way, to the ongoing task of building a more efficient, responsive, and forward-looking Kwara State.
I am equally thankful to the dedicated team at KW-GIS, our partners, stakeholders, and the good people of Kwara State whose support and collaboration made this journey both impactful and rewarding and belief in our shared vision made the work both possible and worthwhile.
These experiences have also deepened my conviction that effective service must continuously evolve to meet the needs and aspirations of our people, especially through platforms that enable closer representation and broader engagement.
As I look to the future, I do so with a renewed sense of responsibility and a deeper commitment to public service. The experiences gained during this period have further strengthened my resolve to contribute more broadly to the advancement of our people and the development of our state.
I am particularly inspired by the opportunity to further contribute to public service in ways that strengthen the voice of our communities and advance their interests at a wider level.
Public service, for me, has never been about position, but about purpose.
The purpose endures, and my commitment to serve remains unwavering.
Thank you, Your Excellency, for the trust. And to the good people of Kwara, thank you for the opportunity to learn, to serve, and to grow in purpose.
