F.I.O Foundation league of volunteers donates Blood to UITH Blood Bank
A Non-Profit Organization, Fatimah Ibrahim Opeyemi (FIO) foundation league of volunteers on Friday donated blood to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin blood bank.
On the 26th of March, 2021, the foundation through its annual collective blood donation exercise set another record by mobilizing some league of volunteers to voluntarily donate what people call river of life (blood) to University of Ilorin Teaching hospital’s blood bank and it became an historical accomplishment.
Even though humanitarian service is a complex puzzle that takes series of selfless activities, donating blood voluntarily remains one of the best gifts one can give the human race. Giving out different kinds of blood is as equal as preserving the life of Humanity.
This mission is borne out of a purpose with the way we see people’s condition at the hospital wards that critically demand for blood and how parents and relatives loiter around due to scarcity of some specific blood groups or for financial support to procure a pint or many pints of blood.
We therefore hope that our collective voluntary donations would help mitigate the course to some extent. We are using this medium to call out organizations, and individuals to share this purpose with us as this thing (blood) is more of prioritized to them to sustain life for awhile.
The Friday exercise is the third time since the foundation was founded in June, 2019.
To our volunteers, you are truly heroes and heroines because very few can do this, despite been aware that what they refuse to give out to who are in direst need of it will later turn to waste products in the body. May the Lord in his infinite mercy reward you all abundantly for taking such impactful risk. Thank you for serving Humanity through F.I.O foundation.
End.
