$2,500 Debt: Ajia took me to court over campaign manifesto, Kwara PDP Guber Candidate
The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Shuaib Yaman has stated that he was dragged to court over manifesto he commissioned him to write for him.
Earlier, we’ve reported how a former Governorship candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) in Kwara state, North Central Nigeria Dr. Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia have sued the Kwara PDP Gubernatorial candidate Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi for 2500 dollars debt.
This is contained in suit no. KWSG/280/2022 pending at High Court of Kwara State, sitting in Ilorin.
Ajia after trying to reach out to Yaman through his friends and political friends resort to litigation as his final of reclaiming the fund he borrowed Yaman.
The fund was reportedly lent to Yaman in the build up to the primaries to settle party leaders and delegates.
An aide of Ajia said, “Yaman has been running away from the state because he doesn’t want to accept the Court paper.
“That is the issue we are currently having, he’s running away from the State and he doesn’t have a personal house or campaign office where the bailiff can at least paste the document.
Ajia in a rebuttal admitted to the court case and also admitted to not have a native intelligence to come up with a manifesto for a state he wants to govern.
Ajia also said he’s not backing down from the case but to push it to a logical end.
One would be surprised that a candidate that has all the year to prepare for the office admitted to have engage a consultant to write something as basic as a manifesto for the state he wants to govern.
The statement read:
Our attention has been drawn to an article making the rounds and alleging the Gubernatorial flag bearer of the PDP, Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi of owing a debt which amounts to a total sum of $2500 which is equivalent to less than #1.8 million today’s exchange rate. The intellectual dishonest writer chose to play by the popular tack of his principal by downplaying the virtuous profession of journalism in an attempt to damage the reputation, character and integrity of Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi.
After going through the obnoxious article, it is obvious that the rag-tag author lacks absolute knowledge of the lawsuit between the plaintiff (Mr Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia) and the defendant (Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi). The argument of the clandestine author shows that he needed a story, whether true or untrue to question the integrity and track records of untainted probity of Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi. But thank God say God no be a man.
In the early hour of Thursday, Sept- 22-2022, the plaintiff refuted this obnoxious article which was sponsored by the Undynamic Agent Provocateurs (The governor’s data boys) as lies and innuendos which are only the figment of the imaginations of the author(s).
The plaintiff however denied on his Facebook page in the early hour of Thursday that he ever borrowed Alhaji YAMAN Shuaibu Abdullahi $2500 to settle some party leaders and delegates during the primaries as claimed by the political snipers of the opposition party.
However, it’s pertinent to let Kwarans know the truth and be free from the darkness of their lies.
Yinka claimed he wrote a manifesto for the PDP fiber Candidate, Alh Yaman in 2019. The first question any sensible person will ask is, why did you have to wait until now when the electioneering process is closer?
Is there any agreement (written document) that backed the claim?
A copy of the manifesto to back your claim?
As a public declaration of policy and aims, especially one issued before an election by a political party or candidate, it’s clear that a MANIFESTO is not something that can be handled with levity. If it’s going to be prepared by a proxy, it must be a person that is well known to the issuer.
Alh Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi, in his clarification, said he never sought the service of Mr Abdulmumin Olayinka nor did he seek his service for whatever manifesto he claimed he wrote for him.
However, the defendant (Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi) already filed a counterclaim against the plaintiff. And in his counterclaim to the lawsuit, Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi requested the court through his lawyer to dismiss the lawsuit because the debt collector lacks the “chain of custody” evidence required to enable him to pursue a debt that never existed to him.
Alhaji Shuaibu YAMAN Abdullahi went further in his counterclaims that since the plaintiff already failed to provide the court with supporting documentation verifying the debt he claimed he owed him because there was never one.
“I already filed a counterclaim to countersue the lawsuit of the plaintiff for $5,000 in statutory damages for malicious prosecution and defamation of character. He will be hearing from my lawyer very soon.” Alhaji Yaman stated.
