•As Unions Foil Plans To Instigate Students Protest
The Kwara State College of Education Ilorin Provost, Professor Abdulrahreem Yusuf has been sacked following alleged misappropriation and mismanagement of funds and subventions.
Reports indicated that funds meant for running of the institution including a N40 million monthly subvention by the state government were misappropriated from the school’s coffers and were not accounted for.
Dr. Ahmed Ayinla has since been appointed as the College’s acting Provost, as the management begins a comprehensive audit of the financial activities of the institution.
Meanwhile, several Unions in the institution have foiled attempts by the ousted Provost to instigate and finance a protest against his removal by students.
