Kwara South Integrity Group Reaffirms Equal Rights of Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Kwara South Integrity Group has reiterated that all political aspirants have equal constitutional rights to contest in the 2027 governorship election, regardless of regional considerations. The position was made known in a press statement released today in Ilorin.
The convener of the group, Mr. Segun David Buoye, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Constitution does not contain any provision mandating zoning for elective positions. He stressed that democratic participation should remain open to all qualified individuals.
Mr. Buoye further appealed to traditional rulers across the state to maintain neutrality and uphold their role as fathers of all, cautioning against involvement in partisan politics. He noted that their leadership is essential to preserving unity and stability within the state.
The group also addressed comments made by the Kwara 4 Kwara North Movement, which had reacted to an earlier statement issued by the Integrity Group on December 3, 2025.

In its response today, the Integrity Group maintained that its position is guided by democratic principles and constitutional clarity, and is not targeted at any geopolitical zone.
Kwara South Declares Readiness for Governorship
Reaffirming its political stance, the Kwara South Integrity Group declared that Kwara South is prepared to produce the next governor in 2027. According to the statement, the district has competent individuals and broad-based support capable of leading the state.
The group concluded by urging the youth across the state to resist being used as political instruments. It encouraged young people to engage responsibly in the electoral process and contribute to peaceful democratic participation.
