Adisa-Jaji Declares for Kwara Assembly, Seeks Better Representation For Ajikobi, Alanamu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Azeez Adisa-Jaji, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ilorin North-West (Alanamu) Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adisa-Jaji made the declaration on Saturday during a well-attended event at the PDP Secretariat in Alanamu Ward, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

In his address, the aspirant described politics as a tool for societal development, stressing that governance must be centered on improving the lives of the people and fostering community growth.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of representation in the constituency, alleging a lack of legislative impact and weak oversight of the executive arm.

According to him, effective representation should focus on people-oriented lawmaking, economic development, and strengthening unity across communities.

Adisa-Jaji also highlighted insecurity as a major challenge, calling for proactive legislative measures to complement the efforts of the executive in addressing the issue.

Positioning himself as an agent of change, he pledged to deliver qualitative representation, promote transparency, and uphold democratic values if elected.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that his decision to remain in the party despite challenges reflects his belief in its ideology and leadership.

The aspirant also acknowledged the influence of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, whose leadership he said aligns with the values of the party at both state and national levels.

Adisa-Jaji recalled his participation in the 2023 elections, stating that although he did not emerge as the party’s candidate, he remained committed and supported the party’s eventual flagbearer.

He appealed to party members and constituents for support, promising to prioritize the interests of the people and deliver impactful representation at the state assembly.
