MOK Foundation Distributed Essential farm inputs, Empowers Fulani Farmers in Kwara
In a fresh phase of its agricultural intervention, the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has distributed essential farm inputs including agrochemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, and knapsack sprayers to Fulani farmers across major Local Government Areas in Kwara State. The exercise is part of the Foundation’s statewide “Empowering Farmers” initiative targeting agrarian communities.
The Ajase-Ipo outreach provided Fulani farmers with chemicals and sprayers designed to improve pest control, boost crop yields, and promote sustainable agricultural practices ahead of the rainy season. According to the coordinator of the Agricultural Initiatives at the MOK Foundation, Alhaji Tunde Salahudeen, the program is the continuation of what started about three years ago.
This distribution follows similar exercises the Foundation has carried out in multiple Kwara communities over the past year. Previous phases reached Fulani farmers in Offa LG, Oke-Ero LG, Omupo in Ifelodun LG, Babanla town, Wande community, Ajengbe community, and Lafiagi in Edu LG, Kwara North among nanynother communities
Alhaji Tunde Salahudeen noted that the delayed distribution was due to “unpredictable weather patterns and the late onset of rain”. He added that while the Foundation has pursued the initiative for nearly three years, the current rollout represents “a more extensive outreach to agrarian communities inKwara State”.
The Ajase-Ipo distribution was organized in collaboration with Fulani community leaders and were conducted under the guidance of local Jowuros to ensure organized and effective delivery.
One of the beneficiary, Mallam Ali Saidu expressed gratitude to the MOK Foundation and its founder, Alhaji Muideen Okunola Kayode, citing his “generosity and commitment to supporting the local farmers”. Similar sentiments were echoed by Sanusi Aliu who said the assistance has “enabled them to improve their agricultural practices, enhance crop yields, and ultimately foster economic growth within their communities”.
Kwara South Fulani leaders, speaking through Jowuro Mallam Aduagba Suleiman of Ajase-Ipo, praised the Foundation for empowering women with start-up capital and donating chemicals, fertilizers, and farm inputs to farmers. Mallam Muhammad Bello, Jowuro of Omu-Aran, assured the Foundation of “long-term partnership,” noting MOK has supported Fulani communities for “more than a year”.
The Foundation says the initiative is designed to enhance food security and build “resilient agricultural systems” while ensuring that “no farmer—regardless of background—is left behind”. The development is expected to have a positive impact on local farming communities by increasing productivity and improving livelihoods.
Founded by Alhaji Muideen Okunola Kayode, Principal Partner of Luxiar Construction Company, the MOK Foundation has positioned the farm input distribution as part of broader community development efforts in Kwara State.
