Kwara 2027: Massive Crowd welcomes Ambassador Yahaya Seriki Gambari after Governor AbdulRazaq’s Endorsement
Excitement filled the atmosphere across Ilorin on Tuesday as supporters, political associates, and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport to receive Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari following his endorsement by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
The airport witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and admirers who stormed the venue with chants, songs, and displays of solidarity shortly after the APC chieftain arrived in the state.
The Governor’s endorsement has continued to generate reactions among political stakeholders and residents across Kwara State, with many describing the development as a reward for Ambassador Yahaya Seriki’s loyalty, dedication, and consistent commitment to the growth of the party in the state.

Viral videos and photographs circulating online captured moments with award-winning music star Davido and renowned fashion entrepreneur Seyi Vodi during ongoing consultations and strategic meetings.
As part of his post-endorsement engagements, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki visited Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s country home in Idigba, Adewole Ward, where APC leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered to appreciate the Governor for the confidence reposed in his aspiration.
The APC stalwart also proceeded to the Palace of the Emir of Ilorin alongside supporters and political allies to seek royal blessings for his governorship ambition.
Speaking during the engagements, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki expressed deep appreciation to Almighty Allah, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their support and trust in him.
“I almost became emotional, but I thank Almighty Allah, my father Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
He further assured party members and residents that, if given the opportunity to lead the state, he would sustain and build upon the developmental achievements and legacy of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
