2023 Election; YPP, PDP Chieftain dump party, joins APC
A chieftain of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and immediate past youth leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Ibrahim Atanda Agbeyangi and Ibrahim Sulaiman Suzuki have dumped their parties for All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
The duo made this declaration on Monday while speaking with our correspondent during their courtesy visit to the state commissioner for Tertiary Institutions Dr Afeez Abolore.
Alhaji Ibrahim Atanda Agbeyangi a chieftain of YPP from Agbeyangand/Gbadamu/Osin ward of Ilorin East said the tremendous performance of Governor AbdulRazaq led administration was the reason he along with his group decided to join APC to ensure he return for second term.
“Performance of the present administration led by Mallam Abdulrazaq was visible and cut across all sectors, even the blinded people also benefited, by interlocking their community in ‘Koro-Afoju’ APC has done extremely well in terms of the renovation of schools, construction of roads, interlocking of different areas across the state, paying workers salaries as at when due and many more, Governor Abdulrazaq really deserves second term for the continuity of development in the state.
“We are ready to work with other stakeholders in our constituency and state to ensure that all APC candidates win a landslide in the forthcoming elections”
Also on his part, Mr Ibrahim Sulaiman Suzuki, an immediate past youth leader of PDP, in Magaji, Are ward 1 of Ilorin East, said it would be unfair if I along with my group refused to support the governor for his re-election, the governor had shown compassion in how he reached out to us, most especially in our house during the last downpour that caused serious damage in the state.
“In fairness APC government led by governor Abdulrazaq has done well in the state, in terms of indiscriminate performance. During the last heavy rainfall that destroyed different houses, it was the governor that came to our rescue in my area despite that he knew we were his political enemies.
“Someone of that character deserves our sincere support and we are ready to mobilize and canvass for his re-election bid.”
The decampees however eexpressed appreciation to the state commissioner of tertiary education, Dr Afeez Abolore who also hails from Ilorin East for his political ingenuity and leadership that pave way for them to be part of APC and pledged to work for the victory of all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
