KWSG EXPRESSES COMMITMENT TO INTERVANE IN OMU ARAN WATER WORKS SOON

The Kwara State Government has promised to provide a quick palliative measure for the Omu-Aran Water Works in preparation for its holistic renovation and rehabilitation.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, dropped the hint at Omu-Aran Water Works when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to assess the facility.
The Commissioner reiterated the state’s commitment to provide potable water to the people of the state as part of its electioneering campaign promises.
Hon. Lade stated that as part of measures to put an end to the suffering of the people of Omu-Aran community for potable water supply, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, has directed that the challenges affecting the functionality of the facility be thoroughly identified to give it a holistic and permanent solution.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mrs. Christiana Omolola Asonibare, said that the short time palliative measure has become necessary because of the meager resources available at the disposal of the state government.
Asonibare assured the people of the community that the state government will in no distant time fix the challenges confronting the water works to alleviate people’s suffering.
Taking the Commissioner around the facility, Engr. Ako Ezekiel briefed him on the challenges militating against the station which he said has disallowed them to pump water to the town for a while.
Earlier, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulRaheem Olade Adeoti, (fnitp), who accompanied the Commissioner from his Palace to the Water Works, intimated to him that since the facility broke down some years back the community has been suffering for drinkable water.
The Olomu appealed to the state government to help find a lasting solution to the suffering of the people by giving the waterworks a quick and holistic solution.
Adeoti thanked and appreciated the Commissioner and his entourage for the inspection visit and determination to rehabilitate the facility to allow free-flow potable water supply to the community.
