Kwara Govt completes Jebba waterworks project, Expresses Satisfaction
The Kwara State Government has expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done at the just completed construction of Jebba Waterworks in Moro Local Government Area.
The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade stated this when he paid an assessment visit to the project site at Jebba.
Hon. Lade, after taking a tour of the entire facility commended the contractor for delivering a good job.
The Commissioner, who was also at the Palace of the Oba of Jebba, Oba Abdulkadir Alabi Adebara after inspecting the project, informed the monarch that the Waterworks project would soon be handed over to the state government for commissioning.
Lade solicited the support and cooperation of the Oba, urging his people to continue to guide and protect the project when finally handed over to the community for use.
Responding, Oba Adebara expressed appreciation to the state government for the construction of the waterworks for his people.
Oba Adebara, who went down memory lane, described the project as a long-time aspiration of his people, which previous administrations had failed to carry out, until God used Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to bring the project to fruition.
The Jebba monarch said they have since been enjoying drinkable water for some months now as the contractor has been doing test-running of the facility after its completion.
Earlier, the representative of the contractor handling the project, Engr. Samuel Nebechukwu, who conducted the Commissioner round the facility, explained all the stages of operations to him and his team.
The President of Jebba Descendants Union, Mr. Abdulkareem Yusuf Abdulmale thanked the state government for providing the community with potable water supply, adding that Governor AbdulRazaq’s name has already been written in gold.
It would be recalled that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq initiated the Jebba Waterworks project as a result of the yearnings of the people of the community.
In the Commissioner’s entourage were the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Christiana Asonibare; Director of Water Engineering Services, Engr. Wopa Yusuf; and other Engineers from the Ministry.
