Manko Gives Reasons for Returning to APC, Speaks On Kwara North Agenda

In a significant political move, Alhaji Adamu Attahiru Manko has officially announced his defection from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) back to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement came during a meeting held yesterday with members of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) in Ilorin.

Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Manko highlighted the reasons behind his return to the APC, describing it as a homecoming to the party he believes aligns with his political ideology and vision for development.

“My decision to return to the APC is driven by my conviction that it remains the most viable platform to achieve meaningful progress for our people,” he stated, emphasizing the need for unity among progressive-minded politicians in Kwara and Nigeria at large.

During the meeting, Alhaji Manko also revealed his intention to contest for a Kwara North senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.He expressed confidence in his ability to represent the interests of his constituents effectively.

Speaking about Zoning the Governorship Ticket to Kwara North by the rulling APC. He used the opportunity to address current socio-political developments in Kwara, calling for unity, constructive criticism, and inclusive progress.

He stated Further, Consultation, meeting prominent stakeholders from Kwara Central and Kwara South will further enhance the chance of Kwara North in providing the Next Governor of Kwara State as the Zone has never produce a Governor in the state since the return of Democracy in 1999

He further commended ASKOMP for its role in promoting responsible journalism and bridging the gap between the public and political stakeholders. “The media remains a critical pillar of democracy, and I appreciate the work ASKOMP is doing in keeping the public informed,” he said.

The meeting marks a new chapter in Alhaji Manko’s political journey, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape of Kwara State as preparations for the 2027 elections begin to take shape.
