…says indiscriminate dumping ‘ll never be condoned

In a quest to maintain clean and tidy environment, Kwara State Government yesterday evacuated all refuse dumped on the streets of Ilorin, capital of the state.

This was based on the order handed down by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the immediate past Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe and Chairman, Environmental Task Force, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah.

After sending the State Government Special Intervention Trucks out for the aggressive evacuation, the Chairman and the Commissioner, commended the Governor for priotizing the health and wellness of the residents.

While speaking, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah said “when you have a proactive Governor, no stone is left unturned to ensure things run smoothly” which explains why they swung into action to ensure the clean and epidemic free agenda of the Governor is actualized.

Also, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe who is now in charge of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, urged the residents to key into the government’s agenda by disposing responsibly, saying indiscriminate dumping is an offence against the state and will never be condoned.

Under strict supervision, some of the areas touched by the team include; Center-Igboro, Oja-Oba, Oja/Agaka Round-About, Surulere, Baboko, Taiwo among many others.

Recall that, at the last quarter of 2021, the Governor procured 3 compactor trucks for the Ministry of Environment to boost its activities in achieving a dirt free society.
