Kwara and The Last Two years- By Engineer Tunde Fadipe
The last two years in the saddle of government by Mal. AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman as the governor of Kwara State has brought in a new horizon in the definition of governance in the state.
We have quickly moved away from the ugly past where explanation and accountability were entirely foreign to the business of governance. In our yesterday of solid sixteen years, their leader held people down, fleezing our common patrimony, destroying our institutions without any respect for the masses.
In Kwara of today, we have moved away from the danger zone, thanks to the Otoge Revolutionary Soldiers and good people of Kwara State who stood fast to demolish those anti-people political structure.
Gov. A.A. is not only changing the narrative of governance but breaking age-long barriers and establishing new heights. He has brought governance to the people by promoting unprecedented gender representation and integration of the young people into the industry of governance. This alone has ushered into our political premises a new horizon of inclusiveness in governance.
Unlike in the past where the business of governance, especially the financial dealings is covered in secrecy, AbdulRazaq’s financial book is open for everyone to see. No wonder, he introduced the social audit to give the public, through the NGOs and Community Based Institutions, opportunity to ask relevant questions on the cost of project and expenses on government businesses.
We have never had it so good in Kwara State interms of project distribution and management until the last two years. The projects now are well distributed across the sixteen Local Governments. As at today, there’s no ward that hasn’t benefited from the good policies of HE AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman.
More rural areas are being opened up through rural access road construction; hospitals are being renovated and upgraded to support primary and secondary health care system; schools are not left out in the renovation and support to deliver in the mandate of affordable and quality education for the children of the masses; water is being provided to the communities through the renovated dams and boreholes where necessary.
The investment in Security is huge in Kwara, unlike others who would fold their hands and allow their citizens to be murdered and start shedding tears on Television, Gov. A.A. would rather refuse to sleep and provide support for the security architecture to protect the people of Kwara State. The relative peace we have in Kwara State is through his efforts and support.
No government in the history of Kwara State has done this level of investment in human capacity development. To be precise, the only human capital development that was known in Kwara State with the past leadership is the celebration and promotion of their thugs which they dubbed as “Good Boys”. The result of that human capacity development for the “good boys” is what we saw in the bank robbery in Offa and other numerous calamities witnessed in the state in those days.
In this new era, Mal. AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman is pulling out the youth from the dungeon and placing them on the pedestal of economic prosperity through effective participation in governance, digital training and empowerment, agri-prenuer , business training and mentorship, loans and business incentives and so many more. In Kwara of today, there’s a reward for intellectual creativity and innovation unlike in the past where the only creativity been rewarded and celebrated is the ability to snatch the ballot box.
We must also be properly guided that this government has recruited more youth to the mainstream of teaching and civil service than the last government. The process of these recruitments has been adjudged to the best in the history of this country. The entire process was not only free of any undue influence but also fair in the distribution of the appointment based on needs assessment.
The women in Kwara haven’t had it so good until this administration. Unlike the previous years that our mothers will have to queue under the sun and the blanket darkness to earn meal ticket of five hundred naira, AA’s administration is taking Ten Thousand Naira to them at their doorsteps as Owo Arugbo, this is not to even mention thousands who are beneficiaries of Owo-Ishowo.
We have also seen that changes are always been resisted even by the people who have the pretentious look of wanting a positive change. We have seen how the saboteur within and outside our party is trying to pull down the government with so many lies and nefarious propaganda. The vault of the state are under lock and key and this may not go down well with so many. The next two years will see more prosperity coming to Kwara State and another tenure will seal the fate of Kwara State to be in the committee of the prosperous states. May AA Succeed and may Kwara State remain on top.

Wonderful script, if I can change my state I will prefer to go back to Kwara.
God will make your tenure a peaceful and progressive reign in Jesus’ name.
